The current COVID-19 pandemic and related public health restrictions still prevent from holding the 48th Ordinary Meeting of the South American Commission to Fight Foot-and-Mouth Disease (COSALFA) in person. In this context, the Director of the Pan-American Foot-and-Mouth Disease Center of the Pan American Health Organization (PANAFTOSA / PAHO) and the Director of the National Animal Health and Quality Service (SENACSA) of Paraguay, as the host country of the meeting, met and they considered convening the 48th COSALFA to perform virtually.

On this occasion, the Pre-COSALFA International Seminar will be held with the theme “Eradication of Foot-and-Mouth Disease: the PHEFA Action Plan 2021-2025, preparation and transition to free countries / zones without vaccination”, in which there will be the opportunity to present and discuss technical issues with international specialists and experts.

EuFMD technical experts are invited to attend the meeting.
