Meeting in Cape Town

A meeting for the implementation of the EAF-Nansen Science Plan with focus on pelagic resources and ecosystems of the Atlantic coast of Africa was held in Cape Town, South Africa from 5 to 9 February 2018. The meeting covered all themes relevant to pelagic resources and ecosystems and their dynamics, in particular:
- Theme 1: Early life history, recruitment and mortality;
- Theme 2: Pelagic stocks distribution, abundance, trends and dynamics, stock identity, and ecology;
- Theme 9: Impacts of climate variability and change on structure, diversity and productivity of marine ecosystems;
- Theme 10: Climate Change (CC) and biogeochemical processes.
More than 60 scientist form 10 countries participated, agreeing on key research projects to be implemented jointly by the scientific partner's to the EAF-Nansen Programme.
