I have the honour to draw your attention to an independent study commissioned last year by Bioversity International, the International Potato Center (CIP) and the Global Crop Diversity Trust, with financial support from Australia, Germany and Switzerland, on the feasibility of establishing a global safety back-up cryopreservation facility for vegetatively-propagated crops and crops with recalcitrant seeds.
