On representations of the UN-assisted Irian Jaya Joint Development Foundation (IJJDF), the Government of Indonesia requested technical assistance to survey the possibilities of brackish water fish production particularly for shrimp culture in Irian Jaya province and to make recommendations to accelerate development in this field.
