IV. TRANSPORT OF COMMON CARP EGGS

Transport of common carp eggs during advanced embryo development stage is possible. The preparation of the eggs for transport, packing and handling of the eggs in the destination place is described in the APPENDIX No 2, Illustrations in the APPENDIX No 1B., table 11.

The transport of the common carp eggs was successfully tried first here in Madagasoar, in 1979 and 1980.

Here should be stressed the preparation of the receiving of the eggs in the place of destination. If it is not suitable, e.i. the eggs are not put in hatching jars (50 or 200 l.) with continuous water flow or in appropriate hatching boxes placed in suitable pond, the result may fail although the transport of the eggs itself was successful.

It is RECOMMENDED :

To extend the transport of common carp eggs to other stations where the appropriate handling of the eggs is prepared and nursery facilities are given.
