1. The Expert Consultation on the Regulation of Fishing Effort was held in Rome, from 17 to 26 January 1983. It was attended by 18 experts as well as by six FAO Consultants and seven FAO staff members. A List of Participants is given in Appendix 1.
2. The Consultation was chaired by Dr. G.D. Waugh. A welcoming address was given by Dr. D. Menasveta on behalf of the Officer-in-Charge of the Fisheries Department, Dr. A. Labon.
3. The Consultation approved the Agenda and Timetable as given in Appendix 2. The List of Documents presented during the meeting is given in Appendix 3.
