There is little doubt that the preparation and holding of an International workshop or symposium, with the participation of distinguished speakers, presenting keynote papers on subjects of paramount importance in the transition period that number of countries are going through, require of all people involved a full dedication and a ceaseless tare all along the various phases of this exercise. This applies inter alia to the Organizing Committee of this Workshop which was composed of Dr. K. Meyn, Director of ADT in Bonn; of Prof Dr. K.J. Peters of the Humboldt University in Berlin and of Dr. H. J. Petersen of the Berlin Trade Fair Ltd. The Committee was assisted by Prof D.P. Glodek of the Göttingen University, untiringly all of them devoted their efforts to the preparation of the programme, to the organization of the workshop and to guiding the debates.
