  CONGO, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF

The 2003 food aid requirement is estimated at 70 000 tonnes. A recently approved WFP Emergency Operation to assist 483 000 worst affected population in Northern and Eastern parts of the country, for a period of six months starting mid-June 2003 amounts to 32 236 tonnes of cereals, still to be funded.
