  SWAZILAND

An FAO/WFP Crop and Food Supply Assessment Mission in April 2003 estimated cereal production at 73 000 tonnes. This is 4 percent above the poor crop of last year but 27 percent below the average level. Domestic production can meet little more than one third of the country’s total cereal requirements. Cereal import requirements have increased to 128 000 tonnes, including 24 000 tonnes of food aid.
