The recent joint FAO/CILSS/FEWSNET mission provisionally estimated cereal production in 2004/05 at 1.038 million tonnes. At this level, production is about one third lower than 2003 good output. However, imports of cereal are not expected to increase significantly compared to last year, due to possible stock drawdown, following last year record crop.
