An important change in the distribution of the fishery took place in 1978, when the Polish and the Soviet fleets terminated fishing in Zone C (CECAF Division 34.1.3). On the other hand, Soviet fishing took place in CECAF Division 34.1.1 (Zones A and B) from October 1977. Details of the fisheries are given in Section 5. The divisions and fishing zones are shown in Figure 1.
