7. STANDARD METHODS FOR FISH NUTRITION RESEARCH

The bulletin2 approved by EIFAC, IUNS, and ICES for the use of standard methods for conduct of fish nutrition research experiments was discussed in detail with Dr Oláh, and with Dr Csengeri. It is very important that the different research units in aquaculture carrying out experiments on fish nutrition of diet development and testing, adopt and use standard techniques for assay of tissues and ingredients, for replication and standardization of experimental units, for use of standard or reference test diets, and for statistical analysis of results. These items are covered in this bulletin. Therefore, it is recommended that all research personnel at Haki adopt and use the Standard Methods for Fish Nutrition Research, and, if it is necessary, modify these methods to clearly and completely describe each modification used in that experiment.
