Instructions:
Mix 40 parts by weight of dry mix above with 60 parts by weight of ground pasteurized fish flesh waste
Blend thoroughly and extrude through appropriate plate
Air dry in air flow for 10 min, then package and freeze until used
Alternately feed immediately - do not let stand at room temperature.
Note:
Propionic acid may be added as a preservative, but spoilage of feed must be closely monitored.
Nutrient Densities of Final Mix:
Protein: 24–26%; assuming whole raw catfish nutrients.
Fat: 4–5%; assuming lean raw catfish levels in cuttings.
Carbohydrates: 60–65%.
When using raw carp cuttings for raw flesh component, fat and energy levels will be higher. These components need to be assayed before incorporation into final mix. Protein content may be increased by substituting soybean meal for maize.
