Building upon its partnership with the Asian NGO
Coalition for Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (ANGOC), FAO provides
assistance to Asian member countries for development of participatory strategies
and methodologies in rural development. This case-study examines an innovative
FAO Technical Cooperation Project in the Philippines which is aimed at
development of an operational framework and institutional mechanism to
facilitate participation by NGOs and rural peoples’ organizations in the
government’s project cycle in agriculture, agrarian reform and
environmental and rural development.
