Agreement Equatorial Guinea/Nigeria of 27 November 1981, renewable
Nigerian vessel defined as one flying the Nigerian flag, whose crew is composed of not less than 50% Africans, and which belongs to a company of which at least 50% of the capital belongs to Nigerians. (Art.11)

Agreement between Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria of 27 November 1981, valid through 26 November 1991
-"Request" for authorization to fish to include the following information: overall length of vessel, date of construction, flag, GRT, characteristics of engine, type of fishing and fishing equipment to be used, crew composition.
-20 vessels authorized: 10 trawlers weighing less than 1000 GRT and 10 purse seiners.
-Minimum mesh size specified.
-Each vessel to employ 3 Guinean nationals on board.
-Designated officer of Equatorial Guinea must be allowed to board any vessel.
-Nigerian vessels to provide technical information relating to fishing operations.
Agreement between Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon of 26 November 1981 renewable unless notice given
-Fishing operations forbidden in estuaries and within 2 mile zone reserved for artisanal fishing.
-Vessels must weigh under 500 GRT.
-Catch must be landed in ports of flag state.
Fishery Agreement between Equatorial Guinea and EEC of 1984, with Protocol of implementation valid from 1 July 1994 to 30 June 1997
-EEC to take necessary measures to ensure compliance by its vessels with terms of agreement and regulations.
-Relevant EEC authority shall present an application for each vessel that wishes to fish under the agreement at least 30 days before commencement of fishing activities.
-Each licence application must contain names of applicant, company and vessel, registration number, date and place of construction, GRT, number and capacity of fish-holds, total number of crew, and fishing method.
-Licences must be held on board at all times.
-Authorized officers' mission on board must not be impeded.
-Training of national seamen required (1 or 2 according to GRT of vessel).
