LEGISLATION
-The Minister of Fisheries shall ensure conservation and management of living resources and shall prescribe on the basis of agreements or other arrangements, for the remaining proportion of allowable catch that other states or their nationals are permitted to harvest in the EEZ. (Art. 21) Trinidad and Tobago may by agreement or treaty, authorize any State, international organization or person to fish within the EE, the territorial sea and the archipelagic waters. (Art. 25)

LEGISLATION
Foreign fishing vessel defined as a fishing craft flying the flag of a foreign state or registered in a foreign state, and which is owned less than 51% by nationals of Trinidad and Tobago.

% = Reports must be made every 3 days for vessels from Norway, Sweden and Faroes when fishing for herring, weekly when fishing for other species .
O = Logbook to be filled out(radio report to be made) after every fishing operation .
* = Country is a part to the South Pacific FFA arrangement which stipulates that licences will not be issued to foreign fishing vessels unless those vessels are listed in good standing on the FFA - maintained regional register of fishing vessels .
