Paragraph 77 of ALINORM 99/11 concerning the food additives provision of the Draft Group Standard for Cheeses in Brine shall be replaced with the following paragraph:

“77. The Committee considered a proposal to include titanium dioxide (INS 171) and benzoyl peroxide (INS 928). Several delegations noted that the use of these substances could disguise the species of the origin of milk being used for production of these cheeses. The Delegation of New Zealand noted that the draft General Standard for the Use of Dairy Terms would require the labelling of species in such a case and that these substances were used for the purpose of adjusting seasonal variations in milk. The Committee decided not to include the substances maintaining its decision of the 2nd Session. The Delegation of New Zealand dissented from this decision. No reference to calcium chloride was made in the Standard.”
