5. SUMMARY OF THE SHRIMP FISHERY IN EACH COUNTRY

The participants had prepared reports on the shrimp fishery in their country. These were all presented and discussed. After the meeting FAO staff extracted information from each report into a common summary format. Table 1 provides important data in condensed form about the size of the shrimp fishery in each country, associated bycatch problems and information about fleets and fishing gear. More information from each country is compiled in Appendix 3.
