SALIENT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES IN MEMBER NATIONS

78. Delegates present at the Session informed the Committee of the salient research activities being undertaken in their respective countries. The Committee observed that much work was under way in several countries but that this information was not usually communicated to the respective Sub-Committees owing to the absence of some country representatives at meetings of the Sub-Committees. The full report from the different Members is attached as Appendix E.

79. The Chairperson stressed the importance of the national reports for the work of the Committee and reminded the Committee that national reports should cover mainly progress in follow-up to the report presented at the previous session or new research activities and that information on aquaculture should not be included. It was further emphasized that national reports should be presented in the standard format that was agreed on in previous sessions.
