For the first year of implementation of SIPAL (Phase I) adequate resources should be allocated according to the following components:
Full-time SIPAL Data Manager to coordinate all EDP and non-EDP activities. Duty station: SIPAL HQ.
Full-time computer programmer SIPAL System Development Assistant. Duty station: SIPAL HQ.
Consultant/contract Computer Programmer (FAO module) - duty station Rome HQ/SIPAL HQ.
Preparation editing and publishing the Reference Manual and the User Manual.
Hardware purchased by AQUILA II.
Hardware to be completed.
Purchase of special software.
FAO Backstopping missions (4).
End-Users WG Meetings (2 × 5 person)2.
The above estimates refer to a system using one working language only (Spanish or English). Should the system be “translated” into other languages (i.e., English/Spanish, Portuguese), this component should be evaluated separately by the Project.
