Besides the capital cost of work of about M$1 000 000, and the maintenance expenditure for pumping plant/equipment of about M$8 000 as estimated by the consultants, the annual expenditure for the maintenance of the ponds, and the operation cost of the project should also be estimated.
As previously mentioned, it is useful to know the cost of water reconditioning, e.g. pond waste water treatment before it is flowed back into the retention pond for use, in a case of a water reuse system. It is not known, however, as to what water reuse can do to the economics of a system.
