V. Korean-Thai
Intenational Farm Youth Exchange Program (IFYE)

An official
invitation from Korea 4-H Federation was sent to the Sub-division of
Farm Youth, DOAE on 25
May 2001 requested for collaboration on IFYE program.
The program intended to
provide Thai and Korean farm youth an opportunity to
participate in social,
culture and physical activities in agriculture and related fields.

The main
objective of the program is to allow young farmers to gain innovation,
widen experiences in farming which will result in an improvement of agriculture
career.

The exchange of
4-H club members and personnel involved were attempted under
the collaboration of
Korea 4-H Federation and Farm Youth Sub-division of DOAE,
Thailand. The first
Korea 4-H delegates visited Korea in September 2001 and Thai
delegates visited Korea
in November of the same year where the principles of
program were discussed
and adjusted to fit the requirement and situation of each
country.

Participants of
both countries appreciated the visits and requested the continuation
of the program as they
gain not only new experiences, but also obtained friendship
with people of
respective country.

The approximate
budget spent on the program was US $ 2,500
