Over the last few years, provenance seed collections have been made of a number of Mexican provenances of Pinus pseudostrobus by the Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Forestales (Coyoacán, Mexico) and of Central American provenances by the Commonwealth Forestry Institute (Oxford, U.K.). Arrangements have been made for the distribution of seed for international provenance trials in a number of participating countries; INIF is responsible for distributing seed lots to countries in Latin America, CFI for distribution to Africa and Asia/Pacific. Table 4 shows details of the provenances included in the trials and Table 5 the names of the institutes cooperating in the trials.
