DIRECTORY OF POPLAR AND WILLOW SCIENTISTS

A Directory of scientists working on the Salicaceae (poplars and willows) was first prepared in 1992 and was revised in 1994. The updated Directory covers more than 420 scientists, from 38 different countries. It was prepared by courtesy of the Director of the Instituto di Sperimentazione per la Pioppicoltura, Casale Monferrato, Italy within the framework of the activities of the International Poplar Commission (IPC).
The Directory classifies scientists by name, by specialisation and by country. Specialisations include, inter alia, silviculture, tree breeding, physiology, pathology, entomology, biomass production, utilization and economics.
Copies of the Directory, or extracts covering countries or fields of specializations, can be obtained from the Secretary, International Poplar Commission, Forest Resources Development Service, Forest Resources Division, FAO, Rome.
Scientists working with poplars or willows are encouraged to submit their particulars for inclusion in the Directory. Registration forms can be obtained from the Secretary of the IPC (address above).
