FOREST GENETIC RESOURCES N.24

DABATTS: THE DATABASE OF TROPICAL FOREST TREE SEED RESEARCH

The database of tropical forest tree seed research, DABATTS, is a source of information on the seed physiology of 120 tropical tree species. The system has been compiled by P.B. Tompsett and R. Kemp. 29 genera are represented with a strong focus on the Araucariaceae, Dipterocarpaceae and Meliaceae. The information in the database is based on 15 years of tropical forest tree seed research at Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, UK sponsored by the Overseas Development Agency (ODA). The system has been prepared with the objective of making the seed physiology information more readily available and highlighting the practical implications of their research.

The system is available in two separate forms:

  • a User Manual with two accompanying diskettes;
  • a printed version of the database contents.

Copies may be ordered from:

The price of the User Manual with diskettes is 14 £UK, and the printed version 23 £UK (price includes postage and packing).
