Comprehensive scope for regional sector analysis

Based on this review, it is Recommended that future Regional Outlook assessments follow a broadened and comprehensive definition for the Region, along the lines of the scope utilized in the present review. The integration of tropical and non-tropical components, the conifer and non-conifer forests, the producer and consumers, and the developed and developing countries, and the "major" and "minor" players are all significant to a better understanding of the dynamics of the forest sector. Partial or limited perspectives will restrict the completeness of the review. Although it is perhaps easy to focus on the 'major' components of the sector, the development of scenarios (see below) requires inclusion of all aspects of the regional forestry sector on both the supply and demand sides. Dynamics and adjustments take place at the margin, and the interaction of all participants shape these adjustments.
