The potential of fisheries in small water bodies is often poorly realized and sometimes it is unrealized. Therefore, this fellowship was one of the vehicles used by the FAO Inland Water Resources and Aquaculture Service to make available comparable information on the management of fisheries in small water bodies as a means to more fully realize the fishery benefits available to many small communities world wide.
