2. REGIONAL FOREST PRODUCTS CONSUMPTION, PRODUCTION, TRADE AND PRICES (1995-2010)
The figures in this chapter show the projections of consumption and net trade, by commodity, for the world and each region of the world model: Africa, America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. The projections are based on the assumptions of GDP growth and timber supply shifts presented in Tables 1.5 and 1.6. (The detailed projections by country are presented in the Appendices at the end of this report).
Also presented at the end of this chapter are the global price levels generated endogenously by the model as it equilibrates supply and demand levels in each year of the projection.
