Agriculture

LEGUMES IN AGRICULTURE. A unique collection of information on the subject with special reference to tropical legumes. ($3.00, ids).

ZEBU CATTLE OF INDIA AND PAKISTAN. A well illustrated book of interest to all tropical cattle breeders. ($3.00, 15s).

CEREAL BREEDING PROCEDURES. A handbook for the field man and an ideal text for an agricultural college. ($1.25, 7s. 6d.).

SMALL FARM IMPLEMENTS. A short book which has interested the manufacturers of small tools as well as those who give advice on their choice and use. ($0.75, 3s. 9d.).

Economics

THE SECOND WORLD FOOD SURVEY. Ran out of print within a few weeks of publication and is now in its second printing -it is a unique collection of facts and forecasts indispensable to anyone interested in the world food situation. ($0.50, 2s. 6d.).

At the end of 1953 FAO published three regional surveys- AGRICULTURE IN ASIA AND THE FAR EAST, AGRICULTURE IN THE NEAR EAST, and AGRICULTURE IN LATIN AMERICA - which analyze the progress made towards the aims of FAO and the prospects for the immediate future. ($1.00, 5s. each).

YEARBOOK OF FOOD & AGRICULTURE STATISTICS, Part I, Production, Part II, Trade. 1953 edition is now available. ($3.50, 17s. 6d. per part).

Nutrition

FOOD COMPOSITION TABLES FOR INTERNATIONAL USE. After running through three printings in the original edition, these have now been supplemented by a volume on minerals and vitamins. (Price complete $1.75, 8s. 9d.).

SCHOOL FEEDING. The only historical survey of this subject in print and includes practical notes on the running and organizing of school feeding programs. ($1.00, 5s.).

MAIZE & MAIZE DIETS. Follows the FAO short booklet on Rice and Rice Diets, the two covering the most important cereals consumed in underdeveloped countries. ($1.00, 5s.).

RICE ENRICHMENT IN THE PHILIPPINES. A scientific report on an experiment in enrichment of rice. ($1.00, 5s.).

TEACHING BETTER NUTRITION. Described as a classic in its field and both English and Spanish editions are in their second printings. ($1.50, 7s. 6d.).

Fisheries

WORLD FISHERIES ABSTRACTS. In all three language editions an established work of reference. (Annual Subscription $4.00, 20s.).

FAO FISHERIES BULLETIN. Now a quarterly publication with important articles on all aspects of world fisheries. (Annual Subscription $1.50, 7s. 6d).

YEARBOOK OF FISHERIES STATISTICS. The only published comprehensive collection of fisheries statistics on a world scale. ($3.50, 17s. 6d.).

COMMODITY STANDARDS FOR FISHERIES PRODUCTS. A step in the direction of rationalizing international trade in fisheries products. (82.00, 10s.).

THE TECHNOLOGY OF HERRING UTILIZATION. (published for FAO by Ministry of Fisheries of Norway). The report of an FAO meeting on the subject and a practical handbook of up-to-date information. (14 N.Kr.).

Forestry

TROPICAL WOODS & AGRICULTURAL RESIDUES AS SOURCES OF PULP and its companion volume RAW MATERIALS FOR MORE PAPER are technical explorations of the possibilities of increasing the world supply of paper pulp. ($2.00, 10s.).

GRAZING AND FOREST ECONOMY. Covers the general relationship between forests and grazing lands in temperate, tropical and arid zones. ($2.00, 10s.).

ELEMENTS OF FOREST FIRE CONTROL. In its second English printing, lays out the necessary steps for establishing a national fire fighting service and policy. ($1.00, 5s.).

DIRECTORY OF FORESTRY SCHOOLS. One of a new series of reference works being produced by the Forestry Division ($3.00, 15s.).
