Crosscut Saw Machine. - Machine developed for sawing to length, and squaring blank ends suitable for automatic lathes etc. Output depends on number of saws mounted on spindle; photo shows 20 in. (51 cm.) machine arranged for sawing three 6 in. (15 cm.) lengths per stroke at rate of 20 strokes per min., i.e., 60 blanks per min. Inclined table facilitates convenient feeding; operator shielded by heavy gauge overplate which covers saws and pressure fingers. In operation table advances carrying work up through saws. These are easily adjusted for length of work, being mounted in independently adjustable collars. Min. adjustment approx. 2 in. (5 cm.).
