World forestry in stamps

 

Belgium

A set of eight values was issued to mark the independence of the former Belgian Congo.

Finland

A stamp issued to celebrate the centenary of the State Board of Forestry. This is the third forestry set issued by this country.

Indonesia

A set of four stamps was issued to commemorate the 15th Anniversary of the Republic.

Iraq

The first time that Iraq has publicly proclaimed interest in Arbor Day by issue of a "forestry" stamp.

Lebanon

Two airmail stamps was issued to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Friends of the Tree Society.

Liechtenstein

For the third year this small principality issued a set of three stamps depicting trees mid bushes. The 20-rappen value shows larches.

Ryukyu Islands

For the third time this country issued stamps to celebrate Tree Week.

Sudan

A set of three stamps was issued to commemorate the Fifth World Forestry Congress.

 

Sweden

Issued to celebrate the centenary of the Forest Administration.

Tunisia

A set of four stamps was issued to commemorate the Fifth World Forestry Congress.

Taiwan

A set of three stamps was issued on the occasion of the Filth World Forestry Congress.

Union of Soviet Socialist Republics

A 40 kopek stamp issued to celebrate the centenary of the artist I.L. Levitan, shows a reproduction of his famous painting "March," a forest scene. This stamp was also used to publicize the U.S.S.R.'s forests.

United Arab Republic Syria

Arbor Day stamp.

United States of America

Two more stamps in the series of commemorative stamps honoring conservation - soil conservation and range conservation. The latter stamp was first issued in February 1961 on the occasion of the annual meeting of the, American Society of Range Management.
