VII. Commemoration of the twentieth anniversary of the Hot Springs conference (May-June 1943) and of the Quebec conference of 1945

A plaque commemorating the Twentieth Anniversary of the Conference on Food and Agriculture which was held at Hot Springs, Virginia, U.S.A. and which had recommended the establishment of a permanent organization in the field of food and agriculture, was unveiled by Mr. R.R. Renne (U.S.A.). A second plaque was unveiled by Mr. Bruce Beer (Canada) in commemoration of the Quebec Conference at which representatives of the United Nations met to sign the Constitution of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and to hold its First Session. The plaques are installed on either side of the tablet containing the Preamble to the Constitution of the Organization.
