The review of regional fishery bodies and arrangements in Asia and the Pacific region and their implications on future activities of APFIC was recommended by the Ad hoc Legal and Financial Working Group of APFIC in July 1999. The review was undertaken by Dr. Deb Menasveta, FAO consultant, in November-December 1999, with legal advice from Mr. Richard M. Stein, former Chief of the General Legal Affairs Service (LEGA) of FAO.
