Matters Referred from Other Codex Committees[2] (Agenda Item 2)

3. The Committee was informed of matters arising from other Codex Committees, including the 47th Session of the Executive Committee of the Codex Alimentarius Commission. In addition to information provided on the consideration of “traceability” within the Codex Ad Hoc Intergovernmental Task Forces on Biotechnology[3] and on Animal Feeding[4], the Committee was also informed that the recently held 6th Session of the Codex Coordinating Committee for North America and the South West Pacific (CCNASWP) “noted that traceability was important in terms of food safety in general and may need to be considered more broadly by the Commission and its subsidiary bodies”[5].
