About the author

Armorer Wason is an international consultant specializing in mass media, communications and public affairs. A Russian-speaker, she has produced television documentaries for western and post-Soviet audiences on health and social issues, history and current affairs in former communist countries. She has carried out frequent assignments for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the African Development Bank (ADB), the Department For International Development (DFID) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) since 1997. In Tajikistan she was responsible for initiating the operation of the FAO project "Radio Broadcasting for Private Farmers", and elaborating the strategy for audience research and project implementation.
