This booklet was produced by the Information Division, FAO, in collaboration with the technical services of the Tunisian Directorate General for the Management and Conservation of Agricultural Lands, the Regional Offices for Agricultural Development of Kairouan, Siliana and Zaghouan, the FAO Subregional Office for North Africa in Tunis and the Water and Soil Conservation Programme (GCP/TUN/028/ITA). It is based on a reportage mission undertaken between 5 and 9 May 2003 by Multimedia Officer Peter Lowrey, Giampiero Diana, FAO photographer, who took all photos used in the booklet unless otherwise noted, and Massimo Fioravanti, FAO cameraman, who documented the programme on video.
