87. The Committee expressed its great appreciation for the excellent contribution of the former Vice-Chairpersons to its work. It conveyed its best wishes to Mr Jean Marin who had retired and congratulated Mr Abdellatif Berraho who was appointed Chairman of GFCM at its Twenty-sixth Session, Ischia, Italy, September 2001.
88. After reviewing the GFCM procedures for the election of Officers, the Committee appointed the following new office bearers: First Vice-Chairperson, Mr Vincenzo Placenti (Italy), and Mr Nicos Hadjistephanou (Cyprus) Second Vice-Chairperson.
