Bio of Kate MacKenzie, MS., RD, Director of The Mayor's Office of Food Policy, New York
Kate MacKenzie leads the de Blasio Administration's food policy efforts that center equity and resilience into ensuring that all New Yorkers have access to healthy, nutritious food while supporting the local and regional food economies. She currently leads the city's COVID-19 food response, which has provided more than 150 million emergency meals to the homes of vulnerable New Yorkers. Additionally, she leads the Administration's commitment to Good Food Purchasing, focused on increasing access to healthy sustainable foods for over 238 million meals and snacks served daily by City agencies, from public schools to senior centers. In early 2021, she will release a 10 year food policy vision and strategy for the City of New York.
