Jegatheswaran Ratnasingam, Ph.D., is a professor at the Faculty of Forestry in Universiti Putra Malaysia. Prior to joining academia in 1996, he was with the furniture manufacturing industry throughout Asia for 14 years. A highly regarded industrial consultant, he has served on consultancy assignments in 25 countries throughout Asia and is also a regular speaker at symposia and conferences. An author of nearly 600 publications, including academic books, scientific articles, trade journal articles, reviews in newspapers, proceedings and TV/radio talk shows, he is also a recipient of many academic and industrial awards. His current research interests are the green economy, sustainable forestry and forest products industries.
