The FAO Central Region Commission in collaboration with the Government of Sudan organized a joint survey to check the winter breeding areas of the Desert Locust along the Red Sea coast. A team of locust experts from Near East countries assessed the seriousness of the situation in these remote areas. Results are used to plan for the upcoming summer operations.
