2010 socio-economic and food security survey - West Bank and Gaza Strip, occupied Palestinian territory

Année: 2011
Auteur(s): FAO/WFP
The Socio-Economic and Food Security (SEFSec) survey is part of a broader monitoring system in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) to be institutionalized within the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS). The purpose of the SEFSec is to gauge changes in the living conditions of Palestinian households by monitoring socio-economic and food security indicators which came out of a need for timely information to complement the Palestinian Expenditure and Consumption Survey (PECS). This initiative is supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Food Programme (WFP) in collaboration with PCBS. Similar to the 2009 SEFSec, the survey conducted in 2010 provides an update on a series of indicators including: Food security (food acquisition, dietary diversity, Household Food Insecurity Access Scale); income and consumption/expenditure patterns; and coping mechanisms.
