This report presents the findings of an International Data Management and GIS Consultant mission carried out to Lao PDR from 4 September to 18 September 2010, under the EC-FAO Food Security Programme on "Linking Information and Decision Making to Improve Food Security”. The mission, which was a follow-up of a desk review of existing data management and GIS systems in use for food security and nutrition conducted earlier, was aimed at assessing country requirements and technical capacity for improved data management, analysis and information dissemination, through consultations with relevant institutions.
