Instituto de Agricultura Sostenible (IAS)

Spain
The Institute for Sustainable Agriculture (IAS) is a research institute of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), founded in 1992, which aims to make food production compatible with the conservation of natural resources and environmental protection. It is located on the experimental farm ‘Alameda del Obispo’ in Cordoba, on the banks of the Guadalquivir, owned by the Andalusian Regional Government.
The research developed by the Institute of Sustainable Agriculture (IAS) of the CSIC addresses the sustainability, both dry and irrigated, of agricultural systems characteristic of areas with a Mediterranean climate. In a globalized world and with the challenge of feeding a growing population, our mission is to make food production compatible with the conservation of natural resources and the protection of the environment.
