Webinar ''State and civil society collaboration to scale up agroecology In India - A conversation with Vijay Kumar''

Agroecological food systems will not achieve optimal performance if farming systems are constituted exclusively of small-scale units. Mechanisms for scaling up are essential. This session explored how and why the state government of Andhra Pradesh, an Indian state, works with women self-help groups (SHG) to support millions of farmers in transition to agroecology.

In this session, Vijay Kumar discussed the Andhra Pradesh Community-managed natural farming (APCNF) initiative with the Agroecology Fund's communications lead, Amrita Gupta. They explained an understanding from organic agriculture's perspective according to the universal principles of agroecology and regenerative agriculture, considering local conditions and integrating farmers' expertise.

The event was part of the ''Oxford Real Farming'' Conference in 2021.
