Urban and peri-urban agriculture has shown positive results in the mitigation of food insecurity in urban areas, however, it is a process that requires economic and technical support in order to optimise results, and for these to be appropriated by the population. In Colombia there are currently no government policies to support these processes, however, some territorial and individual initiatives show a great opportunity for nutritional improvement. From a technical perspective, this book provides the reader with a contextualisation of relevant experiences and useful tools for the implementation of urban and peri-urban agroecological gardens.
