West African family farmers movement set up a Monitoring and Action Committee to address COVID-19

Family farms, which constitute the main segment of agricultural and food systems, are key players in the management of this unprecedented health crisis provoked by COVID-19. Farmers organizations (FO) and civil society organizations (CSO) networks are essential for sustainable ways out of the crises: to set up and implement economic, social, inclusive and sustainable development in the regions and to create wealth and jobs. The three networks: APESS, RBM and ROPPA are committed to setting up a Monitoring and Action Committee which aims to encourage and structure cooperation between all the FO and CSO networks in the face of the current crises.
