Extensive production of cereals and beef through agroecological approaches
The study shows a comparative analysis between agroecological and conventional farms in Benito Juarez, Buenos Aires (Argentina). The research shows the evolution of direct costs per hectare and gross margin in both models over a 14-year period. It concludes that conventional farms' expenses tend to rise due to the increased external resource-use and related price increase. Agroecological farms present similar yields per hectare to conventional systems due to lower production costs and increased gross margins.
