The European Organic Congress 2021 will take place online, live from Lisbon, on 16-18 June 2021.

This year’s main theme is “Organic’s contribution to the European Green Deal”. The congress will focus on how agribusiness initiatives aim to optimize the transition to more sustainable food systems, through the aid of leading examples from representatives and experts amidst the agricultural sector.

During the event, the new European regulation on organic farming 848/2018 will be further developed, maintaining the emphasis on the implications for achieving the community objectives of 25% of land in organic production by 2030. The event will explore how the bioregions living laboratories and demonstrations on farms can contribute to the development of rural areas and to the success of the Biological Action Plan. In addition, the contribution of organic farming in mitigating climate change, with the European Ecological Pact, Biodiversity and other “from farm to table” strategies, and last but not least, the Common Agricultural Policy (PAC) will be the central themes of the various debates of the Congress.
