Although the relevance of agroecological farm and management approaches for achieving sustainable development goals is widely acknowledged, a gap persists regarding their implementation. Agroecological approaches require the co-creation of knowledge and exchange at eye level between scientists, extensionists and farmers.

The final of the Innovation Challenge “Advisory for Agroecology” will take place on 17 May 2022 featuring six innovations in an advisory that will provide the basis for a discussion on how to bridge the gap between science and practice.

The jury has selected six semi-finalists from India, Lebanon, Senegal, Tanzania and Peru who have worked hard over the past weeks and months to prove their concepts. In the final, representatives from science, advisories, and farming will come together to reflect on their approaches, especially with regard to bridging the gap between science and practice. Last but certainly not least, the winners of the challenge will be announced.
