IX Latin American Congress of Agroecology ''Biocultural diversity for healthy communities and ecosystems'', from 5 to 7 October 2022, Costa Rica

The Latin American Scientific Society of Agroecology (SOCLA) promotes the Latin American Agroecology Congresses every two years and its ninth version will be held in Costa Rica, organized by the University of Costa Rica (UCR) and under the coordination of the Local Organizing Commission of the IX Congress, composed of the Institutional Commission for Food and Nutritional Security (CISAN-UCR) and the Agroecology Network of Costa Rica, with the support of the National University (UNA), the Ministry of Science and Technology (MICITT), the National Learning Institute (INA), the National Distance Learning University (UNED), the National State Program (Programa Estado de la Nación) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG).

The IX Latin American Congress of Agroecology is the first initiative to be held in Central America, with virtual activities (conferences, round tables, presentations of scientific papers, experience reports, and agroecological experiences) and in-person post-congress activities (agroecological tours).
The congress is open to academia, students, experts, peasants, indigenous, Afro-descendant and coastal communities, producers, consumers, and in general, those who identify agroecology as a way to advance toward an environmentally harmonious and socially just society.
